Hugo's Frog Bar and Fish House

I got semi-fine-dining-fat-friday last night at Hugo's with some family visiting for the marathon. All in all was not a bad meal, but did rack up a fat-hefty tab...at $6 a beer, and $30 an entree. I didn't pay but my rating, 6 out of 10.
I ordered the Scallops in corn salsa with a baked potato and lobster bisque. The scallops were slightly over cooked and tough.
The appetizers were amazing, for our table of 3, we ordered, the crabcake avocado, garlic bread with goatcheese and sauce, and fried calamari. Crabcake avocado was mouthwatering with the supplemental sauce, the only thing like was some adhesiveness of the cake. The goatcheese and bread, amazing, and fried calamari was good but slightly overbreaded.
~2700 Calories.

A NEW GOAL - Man v. Food - Lucky's Chicago
I have recently moved from Philadelphia to the lovely city of Chicago. I am starting my blog afresh from this transition. Philadelphia is known for its Cheesesteaks, and Beer, also its rudeness and dirty smelly streets. I also feel that Philly was the place for all fat food - pizza, wings, and ice cream. I don't know much about the Chicago Cuisine or people.
Of course there is the deep dish pizza, pork, sausage, and many Chicagoneans claim a good steak. As far as beer, Goose Island and Old Style are the only brewers I've ever heard. So I'm excited to get out there and discover.
Let me reflect on a famous and noteworthy philly fat sunday first....
When I was carried by cheerleaders of the fat world...I would eat
1 Large Pepporoni Pizza, 20 Wings, and 1 Tub Oatmeal Cookie Chunk of B&J, 9 beers....
Cosimos pizza - 6 out of 10, Union Jacks Wings - 8 out of 10, 1 Tub Oatmeal Cookie Chunk - 10 out of 10. See my listing of favorite B&J Ice Cream. (OH MY GOD, just saw they got a new flavor PEANUT BUTTER COOKIE DOUGH - Oatmeal cookie may be bumped)
Calorie Count of Fat Sunday - 1700(pizza),675(ice cream), 1100(wings),1200(beer) = 4675 calories.
I hit the fat scale there. In the good days I would go up 15 pounds from friday to monday.
Now Chicago, I've set my goals to do the man v. food challenge at Lucky's, consisting of 3, 1 pound sandwhiches.
Unfortunately I am no long in my good eating times, and haven't done a fat-sunday in over 4 months, so the training is beginning.
Key things I need to do:
1. Work out more, lose weight gain muscle
2. Decrease body fat so stomach can expand easy
3. Drink lots of water, and low calorie pasta and veggies
4. Prep every sunday with a big meal
5, keep protein supplements high
Right now the calendar for achieving the man v. food 3 sandwiches is sometime in late November or early December. I will do a 2 sandwich trial in 3 weeks, and see where I am.
Now for my first semi-fat-sunday here. A friend and I ordered two large pizzas for 20.99 from Sarpinos in Chicago. We each ate a large pizza (one had canadian bacon and chicken, and the other had pepperoni and red peppers).
The pizza itself was pretty standard, not good, but not horrible. Good deal atleast. The canadian bacon and chicken pizza was pretty fabulous the first couple slices with blue cheese, however after the 4th slice not so much. The pepperoni and red pepper is standard and can never go wrong in my books. All in all I give it a 7 out 10 because of the value....Calories - 1400.
The fattness is bad, gonna have to bring it up a notch or two over the next weeks.
